What type of Humor is
your book?
The book schooled is the type of humor comedy of ideas. In this
book there is a boy named Capricorn Anderson, Cap for short and he is from Garland
farm. When his grandmother fell of a tree and severely injured herself, Cap’s
new life began. While his grandmother Rain was in the hospital he had to live
with Floramundi Donelly. At his new school he was a nobody, the guy who got
bullied non-stop. He was later elected president of the 8th grade by the cool
kids of the school Zach Powers and his crew. Zach tried to break him down like
he did with all the former presidents. Zach played tricks like sticking dead
birds in Cap’s locker and stealing his shoes while he was meditating. One day
on the bus the driver passed out and everyone was in shock, except Cap he
hopped into the driver’s seat and he drove the bus to the hospital. He was now
the new the biggest kid in the school. This is Comedy of ideas and more specifically
satire. It is satire because at the start of the book he was the biggest loser
ever and no one talked to him. By the end he became a legend. This type of
satire is reversal.
Did you find your
book funny?
I found at times that this book was funny. I found that the
parts when Cap didn’t understand some of the modern concepts quite funny
because everyone these day know everything about everything modern. Since he
was so isolated on the farm he didn’t even know about some of the events they
had since the old times. For example Cap didn’t even know what a dance was or
what happens at a dance. He was the 8th grade president and didn’t even
know what a dance was, yet he had to set up the whole school dance.
